Making a simple tasty sauce
Marva’s Sweet and Sour Sauce
A simple recipe for sweet and sour dishes, good with fish, veg or meat
Ingredients:
2 blended or juiced tomatoes (or 2 tablespoons ketchup for a quicker version)
2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
1/2 cup apple juice, orange juice or pineapple juice
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon cornstarch, mixed in a bit of cold juice or water

Black beans have disappeared!
Alas! I have found no black beans anywhere local.. and not up to driving to Hereford or Abergavenny to widen the search, oh well.. Ratatouille will be on the menu this week!

So sorry that I was only able to do one day of the Talgarth Festival Market because I over did things and ended up with my legs swelling (still recovering from the knee injury and getting my strength back.. ) However, the experience did help to reinforce my ideas about how what I can do at the markets.. This week I am hoping to receive some breadfruit to roast for the Thursday market in Hay...

Back to making stuff...Yay! In this case Yogurt!!!
When I was a teen, my stepmum taught me how to make yogurt. My sister and I used to take turns making it as I recall. I’ve been thinking about getting back to making it simply because buying yogurt and accumulating more and more plastic tubs seems silly. So today out of curiosity I decided to look up various ’recipes for making yogurt’.

Gluten-free dreams
I’ve been receiving more requests for gluten free products. This probably contributed to me having dreams about making gluten-free Chelsea buns… Currently, I sell Chelsea buns locally by request. So, now I want to be able to provide gluten-free versions.. talking to a friend suggests this will mean doing a week of batch cooking probably once a month… Anyway, I had another dream...
